CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
BALLET
Ballet is the foundation of all dances. Students are highly encouraged to study it first or along with other dance forms. There are many results of proper ballet training: good posture, poise, self-discipline, grace, strength and a healthy body.
TAP
Tap is a sure way of developing coordination and rhythmic ability. It is designed to enhance the coordination of the ankles and feet. Tap is the most widely recognized style of dance.
JAZZ
Jazz Dance is the most versatile style of dance. It is freer, and more rhythmic than lyrical dance. Jazz is less restricted, less classical, and less academic than Ballet. Jazz is an art and is creative in a wide array of styles.
LYRICAL
Lyrical dance is expressive in nature, combining jazz, ballet, and modern techniques and vocabulary.
DRILL TEAM
Our Drill Team program is designed for any student wanting to study and advance in high school and college teams. This program targets 8th grade through college level. At TCD, students will prepare for drill team tryouts and be challenged to maintain skills once a team member.
BATON
Our Baton program varies from beginner to advance baton-twirling skills. Students are recommended to take a jazz class along with baton.
FLIP 4 FITNESS
The Flip 4 Fitness program is designed for students who want to stay active. It targets ages 5-12, but is open for ages 13 and over. Activities include flexibility, strength training, yoga, dance, cardiovascular activities, endurance training, and gymnastics.
HIP HOP
Hip Hop is a structured street dance often seen in music videos. Benefits include strength, coordination, endurance, and quickness.
STEP
Stepping or step dancing is a form of percussive dance, using the body as an instrument to produce mixtures of footsteps, spoken word, and handclaps. Step often resembles military style and formations.
CARDIO-FUNK
Cardio-Funk is a fun way to melt calories plus tone and tighten. This class is designed for adults. If you think you have two left feet, this workout will have you moving and grooving.
SATURDAY CLASSES
PILATES
This program provides simultaneous stretching and strengthening of the deep abdominal and back muscles. Focus is on the abs, thighs, hips, and buttocks. Pilates incorporates five techniques: concentration, control, centering, precision, and breathing.
PRAISE
Praise and worship dance, referred to as liturgical, is a dance expression of the joy and appreciation of a personal relationship with God Almighty. Music gospel music, hymns, the spoken word , Christian contemporary, and more.
“AWAKEN” YOGA 9:00am – 9:50am
To “AWAKEN,” refresh and rejuvenate the mind/body connection
~through a fluid flow of breath-based, release movement positions, we will stretch and strengthen the body, as well as open the heart center
~by the end of this class, you will “AWAKEN” to the effortless freedom to flow throughout the day in a Bright Light of Well Being

WHOLE.BODY CONDITIONING 9:55am – 10:55am
To condition the WHOLE.BODY to its highest potential for long, lean, toned muscles
~through high intensity strengthening exercises, we will focus on each main muscle group: ARMS, ABS, and LEGS
~each muscles group is worked in 15 minute intervals
~class ends with a 15 minute WHOLE.BODY cardio “cool-down”

CONTEMPORARY BALLET 11:00am - 12:00pm
To introduce/enhance the core fundamentals of classical ballet with a contemporary flare
~through a series of barre, center, and across-the-floor movement phrases, we will focus on the technical strength and artistic beauty of contemporary ballet
~an AMAZING opportunity to strengthen the body, as well as become an even more BEAUTIFUL dancer!

Studio Dance Season
DANCE CLASS
Classes meet once a week. Make up classes are not provided by TCD. If a student misses class and wishes to make it up, private lessons are available.
Students are expected to arrive on time and dressed according to TCD guidelines.
TUITION/FEES
Tuition is due by students’ first class at the beginning of each month. There is a $10.00 charge on payments made after the 5th of each month.
Failure to pay tuition will result in non participation of class.
NO student will be admitted in class after the 5th of each month without payment.
HAZARDOUS WEATHER CONDITIONS/ HOLIDAY/STUDIO CLOSINGS
TCD will follow the same discretion as Lewisville ISD school district.
RECITAL
TCD annual recital will be held in June, usually the second weekend of that month. Students are strongly encouraged to attend every class throughout the spring dance semester. Students with extreme and/or unreasonable attendance, during the months of March through June, may be asked to take private lessons.
